Man jailed for Penkridge incident |
Good afternoon, hope you're well. A man has been jailed for dangerous driving after officers spotted him travelling at double the speed limit in Penkridge. Lewis Mills, aged 24, of Huntington, was arrested on Tuesday (17 February) after fleeing a car he had been driving at around 60mph in the Vale Gardens area. Officers gave chase and Mills was arrested a short time later. He was then charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance. Mills admitted the offences before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday (Wednesday 18 February), where he was handed a 10-week custodial sentence. He was further disqualified from driving for one year and seven months and will have to complete an extended re-test. Mills was also ordered to pay a surcharge and costs to the prosecution.
This vehicle was flagged to officers due to its links to criminal activity, and PCSO Millichap has been developing the intelligence as part of ongoing enquiries. This is a positive result and reflects the impact of proactive policing in Penkridge.
Many thanks
