Community Update – Burglary Awareness in the Ways Road Area Since the start of 2026, there have been five burglaries and two attempted burglaries within or near the Ways Road area of the Stoneygate Ward. We want to keep our community informed while also highlighting the positive actions residents and officers are taking to keep the area safe. Recent Incidents Between 1 January and 17 February 2026, five of these incidents occurred. Common Themes Identified Our team has identified two recurring methods in these recent incidents: Access via upstairs windows Attempts to tamper with door seals The positive news is that security measures already in place—especially alarm systems—have proven highly effective in preventing losses. Working Together for a Safer Community We are continuing targeted patrols in the area, especially during key times identified through recent reports. Your vigilance and information have been invaluable in helping us build a clear picture of what’s happening locally.During the period of Ramadan, officers will be conducting high visibility patrols during prayer times and also showing a presence around Mosques.
To support one another: If you wish to have a crime prevention visit for advice, we can arrange this will our Police Volunteers who are keen to help. To book this…. Thank you to everyone who has been proactive in looking out for neighbours and sharing useful information. By working together, we are making the area safer for all.
