Increase of Burglary Related Offences |
From January - February 2026 there has been a significant increase in Burglary offences with in the Denewood Crescent/Glenbrook Crescent area; often displaying trends and coinciding in the theft of Motorbikes and Pedal cycles from the targeted addresses. Please remain vigilant and avoid leaving your property insecure by ensuring that doors and windows are kept locked throughout the night or whilst the address is left unattended even if it is for a short period of time. Target Hardening is a crucial aspect of keeping your valuable items safe and by simply applying industry approved locks to secure Motorbikes and Pedal Cycles it can inconvenience offenders and make the items less desirable for opportunistic thefts. It is a common occurrence that people often leave keys to vehicles by quick and easy access points for convenience however, bear in mind that this mindset can leave opportunities for suspects to take advantage and it is best practise to store them separately from the vehicle and away from sight. Locks that can be used for securing Motorbikes: Note: Using a combination of locks and anchoring the bike to an immovable object is always highly recommended and to support Police investigations these actions are best paired with the installation of suitable lighting alongside CCTV or by fitting a hidden tracking device (e.g. Apple Air Tag / Samsung Smart Tag2).
As some of you may be aware Local Officers from Broxtowe Police Station are frequently hosting Bike Registry events within the area including Harvey Hadden Sports Village, Wigman Road, Nottingham therefore keep an eye out for times/dates throughout the coming months. This is a great opportunity for you to register your pedal cycle on the National Database for Free with the installation of tamperproof ID stickers that make recovery/return of you bikes easier if ever stolen.
