Riverside Beat Priority Update |
||
|
Hi all,
Please see the following February update for our priorities:
Darker Nights:
What we have done: Similar to our other priorities, foot patrols have continued to take place around locations where incidents have occurred. This hopefully provides reassurance for members of public ensuring they feel safe in their community. These locations include Castle Gardens and the canal towpath nearby, DMU grounds, Nelson Mandela Park and Thirlmere Gardens. These locations have been added to our patrol plan, being highlighted as routes regularly taken by staff of the LRI and DMU alike.
Part of our pledge in relation to this priority was to hold engagements specifically about this topic. PC Fabian and PCSO Hafsa have been at the LRI speaking to staff about how best to keep safe when walking around late at night. This includes walking in well lit areas, walking in pairs, being on the phone and letting people know of your whereabouts at all times.
Other engagements held by the team include being around the open spaces. They have identified adults causing ASB who have either been given strong words of advice or started on the incremental approach. As always, please contact police if you are made to feel uncomfortable, identify anyone acting suspiciously or need advice.
Many thanks
