Fly Tipping and Abandoned Vehicle Targetting |
||
|
Burnley Neighbourhood Police along with Burnley Council, with assistance from Immediate Response Policing, have conducted another joint operation targeting abandoned, obstructive and dangerous vehicles along with fly tippers and waste license compliance A vehicle which has been left on a busy industrial unit was seized. This vehicle has been seized under Section 99 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 due to being abandoned and an obstruction. This enables police and local authorities to remove such vehicles. Another van driver has been asked to conduct an interview with Burnley Council to ensure compliance of waste removal Numerous other vehicles checked and important information sharing proved why this joint approach is vital Fly tipping and working outside regulations and licenses poses a real danger to communities and is often funding organised crime. Neighbourhood Policing and Burnley Council are dedicated to ensuring community safety Please report any fly-tip incidents or abandoned vehicles to Burnley Council and always ask for a waste carriers license when using waste removal services | ||
