Today our PCSOs Claire & Katie have been speaking to residents on Major Street Manselton following a rogue trader incident which occurred at around 16.30hrs on Tuesday 24th February. They also returned Friday 27th February at 11.30hrs.
Unfortunately, a vulnerable resident has been targeted by a male advising he had completed roof repairs and guttering clearance.
We would like to raise awareness of rogue traders and doorstep crime. We will not tolerate vulnerable people being targeted by such scams and doorstep crime. Residents can feel reassured that we are committed to driving such traders out of the area. Rogue Traders will charge for work that is either not needed, not complete, or done to a poor standard. Rogue Traders often target elderly or vulnerable customers and will use forceful tactics and intimidation to secure work. People are urged to look out for elderly and vulnerable neighbours and relatives. Anybody who suspects rogue trading should contact South Wales Police by one of the following means:
Our officers are carrying out extensive door to door and CCTV enquires in the area. We have only received the one report to date. If you did witness anything, or if you have also been targeted please report it.
