Rural South crime update

Good Morning Rural South residents,

In addition to  some social media posts that we have out I would like to update you in relation to an ongoing set of issues reported by residents in Asfordby.

The reports were of door kicking and noise as well as some incidents of criminal damage to a house in the village. PCSO French and I set up and ran a Problem Management Plan to begin to tackle the issue.

We have seen a reduction in reports to police but are aware there are some issues still. We still have the plan open.

The good news is that the lovely person that had their property damaged was informed yesterday that I have identified the culprit and they have been making good ; with some great support from the parent we have had the young man meet the victim of crime and apologise, he has been subjected to an educational session from me and he will now have a police record. 

There is only one opportunity for such intervention before criminal records are endorsed which can impact future prospects. 

This is a message of reassurance to the residents that we are dealing with these complaints and as a warning to others that the behaviour will be investigated and dealt with.
