I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Good Morning Forest Gate,
Ramadan Mubarak to those within the community that are observing Ramadan this month. We just wanted to give you a quick update from your local team. As some of you may be aware from recent news, an alarming trend has spread on social media regarding "Red Vs Blue School". we want to assure all residents that although this initially appears to be airing towards the side of "clickbait/ragebait" online, we are taking actions to safeguard our young people within the community.
You will see an increased presence of officers around schools during morning and evenings. Officers will out and engaging with young persons, and if necessary asking larger groups that are congregating to disperse.
Weapon sweeps have also been conducted in high ASB areas and potentially dangerous items have been removed.
We are actively working with our schools and youth engagement hubs to provide reassurance and safety whilst having minimal impact to "business as usual"
we remind all residents that if they have any concerns or information they can contact the team directly through Met Engage. Alternatively you can report crime through 101 and online portal, or dial 999 in emergencies.
Regards, Forest Gate Safer Neighbourhood Teams
