Beccles – Theft of cash machine at building society |
||
|
Police are appealing for witnesses after a cash machine was ripped out of a wall in Beccles.
Officers were called at 2.50am this morning, Wednesday 4 March, to reports of an incident at Nationwide Building Society in New Market.
A telehandler was used to ram the front of the building and then rip the cash machine out of the wall, which was then dragged from the premises and loaded into a dark-coloured van – possibly a Ford Transit.
Officers were immediately dispatched to the incident and conducted searches of the surrounding area for the suspect vehicle, but it was not located.
The telehandler is believed to have been stolen from a farm in Ringsfield and was abandoned at the scene.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
