Violence Against Women And Girls

Today, the SNT team from North Acton partnered with colleagues from South Acton to run a community stand focused on raising awareness about Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). Our teams engaged with female residents, sharing information and crime‑prevention materials designed to promote personal safety, increase confidence, and encourage reporting of any concerns to the police.

As part of the Met’s ongoing commitment to tackling VAWG, we reinforced key messages around early reporting, bystander awareness, and how residents can access support services. We also highlighted the importance of community partnership in helping us identify perpetrators, safeguard vulnerable individuals, and reduce harm.

The stand was set up on The Mount, and we will continue delivering this type of visible, preventative engagement across the wider Acton area to ensure women and girls feel safer and more supported in our community.
