Hello Resident, I hope you are doing well. It’s PCSO Priest here with the weekly Neighbourhood update.
What has our team been doing? Officers of the Bartley Green Neighbourhood team have attended St Francis centre for our monthly Cuppa with a Copper. It was great to speak to people attending the event and speak to them about any concerns or enquires they may have for an issue they may know about within the community,. Helping to provide advice and reassurance to any concerns people may have.
Officers of the Bartley Green Neighbourhood team have been doing weapon sweeps across Bartley Green to check for any weapons hidden or dumped within the fields and bushes in the area. In total we have discovered two knifes what have been left in bushes, where they will now be taken away and destroyed. If you do stumble upon any weapons, then please call 101 to make West Midlands Police aware so that officers can go out and collect the weapon.

Additional Information We regularly deal with drivers who obstruct the footpath leaving no room for people to get past, as well as cars parking in a way where it obstructs your view of the road. But the issue we have is that we are not always there to tackle and deal with these issues in person. So below is a link what takes you to the West Midlands Police website page where you can report car’s obstructing the pavement, obstructing your view of the road, and even vehicles parking in keep clear zones and double yellow lines. This helps us solves crimes but also helps to keep your community safer. We are still experiencing an increase of demand from across the area over the last few weeks, with more people calling and asking for help. Our staff work extremely hard to answer and respond to your calls and live chats. But due to the high demand it can cause callers to have to wait longer than they should, what is something neither of us want at all. We prioritize your enquires/calls based on how urgent they are, but we always appreciate that you want help as soon as possible.
In Non-emergencies circumstances, we want you to get in contact with us through the live web chat, or the Non-emergency telephone 101.
If your circumstances are emergencies, then please call 999.
We are still looking to recruit for the Street watch initiative. For further information please visit the WMP website for details. You can use the link below what will take you to our page where the necessary steps to register your interest in the street watch programme, can be made. Street Watch | West Midlands Police
