Vehicle crime - Ickenham - Can you help? |
||
|
This message is especially relevant to ALL residents in Ickenham who own a vehicle or have a domestic CCTV system or video doorbell. In the past few weeks there has been a marked increase in the number of vehicles being stolen in the Ickenham area. On each occasion CCTV has shown typically two suspects on foot, but unusually there is no indication from any local CCTV systems as to how they arrived in the area. Usually thieves will arrive by means of another driver and vehicle who then make off when the targeted vehicle is stolen. Action required please: The most recent vehicle theft occurred yesterday 09-03-2026 at 0355hrs in Broadacre Close, Ickenham (01/7272191/26 - white Mercedes). Residents across Ickenham are asked to search their CCTV systems and video doorbells please to see whether there is any indication as to how they arrived in Ickenham - perhaps it was on foot, or in a vehicle, and given the early hours any footfall or vehicles in the back roads may well be associated with this crime. Note that even if you have a shadowy figure in the far distance that could well provide a breakthrough on direction of travel towards Broadacre Close. In the first instance please contact your local Ickenham Neighbourhood Watch team at ickenhamnhw@gmail.com in the first instance, who are liaising directly with the police on this series of vehicle crimes. Crime prevention - all vehicle owners: Please consider purchasing a physical steering lock for your vehicle to deter thieves. Simple crime prevention measures really do work. | ||
