Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team |
||
|
Hello, and welcome to your round up from the St Matthew’s Neighbourhood Policing Team. Keeping the different communities in St Matthew’s informed of just some of the activities that we have done recently.
Some things that we have been doing on our patch:
PCSO’s visited a supported living project and warden-controlled apartment block. Residents shared issues of concern about their neighbourhood/community. The residence received advice and support from the team to help them with the issues that they raised. The PCSO’s also spoke with the residence about personal safety, offering crime prevention advise for when the residents were out within Walsall. The visits were well received, with the conversation flowing between residence, staff and PCSO’s.
The team have recently conducted some community engagement to make people aware of issues around child exploitation #LookCloser. The PCSO’s visited a local mosque near to Walsall Town Centre and the Hub at St Paul’s bus station. Also, St Matthew’s NHT helped colleagues from the Pleck NHT when visiting Pleck Library to deliver crime prevention advice and discuss child exploitation issues with a group of adult learners that are students from Walsall College.
The team have worked in partnership with Walsall Trading Standards on two operations. One of which involved, there was some savvy shopping, visiting Walsall town centre shops with a dog, where illegal vapes were seized. Also, on Tuesday PCSO’s were out highlighting the work that the police do in partnership with trading standards. Along with a dog they engaged with members of the public at St Pauls’s Crossing.
