Blythe Crime Update 

Tuesday 3rd March – Wednesday 11th 2026

Vehicle crime:

On Monday 9th March a theft from a WHITE FORD TRANSIT van was reported from PREMIER INN car park on STRATFORD ROAD, SHIRLEY. Offenders have smashed the van windows to gain entry, a rucksack containing various items were stolen.

Burglary crime:

No burglaries have been reported. 

Other reported crime:

Other crime reported are as follows, Racial aggravated offences, possession of drugs and shoplifting.

Good news:

There will be a Beat Surgery at HALLIE’S CAFÉ in SHELLY CRESCENT, SOLIHULL between 10am and 11am on the 16th of March.

There will be a Beat Surgery at NOTCUTTS GARDIN CENTRE on STRATFORD ROAD, SHIRLEY between 10am and 11am on the 17th of March.

There will be a Beat Surgery at the BLYTHE ROSE SPECIALIST DEMENTIA CARE HOME in BLYTHE VALLEY between 10am and 11am on the 24th of March.

Vehicle crime prevention advice

To prevent vehicle crime, always lock your car, close all windows, and remove or hide all valuables. For extra protection, use physical deterrents like steering wheel locks, secure your license plates, and if you have a keyless entry vehicle, store your key fob in a signal-blocking pouch. Parking in well-lit areas can also help deter thieves. A steering wheel lock is a visible and effective deterrent that makes your car appear more difficult to steal. Use a signal-blocking pouch or box for your key fob when at home to prevent "relay" attacks where thieves amplify your key's signal. Fit a Thatcham-approved alarm or aftermarket immobilizer to make theft harder and consider a system that allows for real-time GPS tracking, which can help recover a stolen vehicle.

Burglary crime prevention advice

to prevent burglary, secure your home with strong locks, visible alarms, and exterior lighting. Make valuables invisible from windows, use timers for lights when away, and keep your property, including sheds and outbuildings, locked at all times. For added security, you can register items with serial numbers online. Always lock all doors and windows, even for short trips. Make sure side and back gates are also secure. Fit visible burglar alarms and motion-activated floodlights. Ensure doors and windows are burglar-proof, such as by using security-rated products also please do not leave ladders, garden tools, or other items outside that could be used to access windows. Keep shrubs trimmed so they don't block views of windows.
