You Said, We Did: Update on local neighbourhood policing priorities

During our most recent priority setting forums, members of the public gave feedback on the issues they’d like to see their neighbourhood officers focusing on over the coming months. Here is an update on how we are addressing your concerns:

YOU SAID: ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN WELWYN GARDEN CITY TOWN CENTRE

WE DID: We have been working hard to identify those contributing to ASB in the area and we are working closely with partner agencies and schools. Work has been completed with the full support of the managing agent for the now vacant Lloyd’s Bank to ensure the premises is properly secured. This will prevent those who would seek to trespass from gaining entry and causing damage. We’re also installing gates in the alleyway that run alongside McDonalds to the bus station. This should prevent the alleyway from being used for criminality and ASB.

WE DID: Officers are carrying out patrols and developing intelligence so that appropriate action can be taken. This could be in the form or arrests or warrants.
