2026 - Week 10

Hello Good People of Custom House. 

If you give me a few minutes, I’ll share with you a breakdown of street crimes in Custom House from over the past week. Please read on for info and advice. 

Dog out of control

09/03/2026 – A male was walking an unleashed German Sheppard dog in Lowe Avenue. The dog jumped up and has bitten another pedestrian on the arm. 

Theft

09/03/2026 – A parcel was stolen from the communal area of a block in Gill Avenue.

Robbery

05/03/2026 – A male was shown a knife in a bumbag in Murray Square by a robber who demanded the victim give him “everything”. 

05/03/2026 – A 27-year-old with an iphone was threatened with a screwdriver on Prince Regent Lane. Police attended and found the suspect nearby. He was arrested.

Public Order

On 07/03/2026 a person described as an Asian Male, Mid 20s, short dark Hair, East London Accent, wearing navy blue Joggers and a black Jacket approached a lone female in Vandome Close and told her she was beautiful. The female feeling vulnerable and intimidated, quickened her step and made it home safe. The male was not seen again.

Theft From Vehicle

08/03/2026 – A disabled badge was stolen from a car outside Katie Court.

Theft of a Vehicle

06/03/2026 – A grey Nissan Juke was stolen in Ethel Road E16.

Theft From a Person

05/03/2026 – Cycle enabled phone snatch on Tollgate Road.

Police Actions

We have been busy this week and arrested a four wanted people. Most notably, we ran a Drugs dop operation at Canning Town Station with other SNTs which resulted in: 

24 drug seizures

4 arrests (including one for possession of weapons)

And I’m happy to report that burglaries are still down in Beckton. 

General Advise

Please keep your eyes up and not on your phone when standing at a bus stop or walking down the street.

If you do live in a block, look after your neighbours’ packages and drop them at their door if you can. 

Please keep your cars empty of all personal belongings once you’ve parked up.
