GRANGE ROAD / TOWER BRIDGE ROAD SE1 AREA - PHONE SNATCHERS

PCSO Paul and PCSO Ali the other day were carrying out robbery patrols of Grange Road which is on London Bridge and West Bermondsey ward and Bermondsey Spa Gardens which is just off our ward after having had many calls from the public in the past week in regards phone snatchers on bikes. A call came out and we put ourselves on scene and sure enough saw a suspected phone snatcher with face mostly covered up on an E-bike, whom did a quick u-turn on seeing us. We put it up over the radio and directed our tactical team that can stop them in a safe and controlled manner to where the suspect headed and though quick on scene, the suspect just managed to evade us, however a bike was recovered on route. Members of the public came and thanked us for our efforts which we both appreciated. We will continue to keep an eye on the Grange Road area and also Tower Bridge Road which has had quite a few phone snatches and is only a stones throw away.
