Dear Residents, Police are reminding members of the public to remain vigilant following reports of thefts from vehicles in the Alvaston area. Opportunists thieves are targeting vehicles that are left unlocked or have valuables visible inside. Residents are advised to take the following precautions: Always lock your vehicle , even if you only leaving it for a short time. Close all windows and sunroofs when leaving your vehicle unattended. Remove valuables such as bags, wallets, phones, and tools, or keep them out of sight Park in well -lit and busy areas where possible. Keep car keys and keyless fobs secure, especially inside your home. Leaving items visible in a vehicle can attract opportunist theives and lead to damage such as smashed windows, even if the item stolen has little value. Report suspicious activity. Call 101 to report suspicious behaviour or information. Call 999 if a crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger. Police are continuing enquires and ask residents to check CCTV, doorbell cameras, or dash- cam footage that may assist with investigations. Many thanks Alvaston/ Boulton SNT.
