BBC Radio One's Red Nose day cycle passed through Worcester |

Yesterday, I had the honour of accompanying Radio One's presenter Greg James as he cycled through West Mercia Policing area and more importantly through Worcester, on day three of his 1000km challenge on a tandem bike. I joined them at Ross On Wye and left them at Droitwich. I was tired after doing just over 40 miles, but that was only half of the distance for that day for Greg. For a man on a heavy tandem bike, he had a good pace on him (even up those killer hills). The amount of people out on the roadside lining the route was absolutely amazing and I don't think there was a gap of more than 30 seconds where I didn't see someone cheering him on. As we went through Worcester, Greg commented several times on haw amazing it was to see so many people out, even in the heavy rain and wind. Thank you to the people of Worcester who were very well behaved (so I didn't have to stop my bike to deal with anyone and have to try and catch him up again). I had my own support team with PC's Molly Smith and Dee Stanley who also assisted with traffic management.
