An update on Havering Ops |
||
|
Dear Resident,
This is just a quick update on results from last year's Op.
Two people have been charged with handling stolen goods and prohibited drugs, following a Metropolitan Police operation targeting unlicenced traders.
On Tuesday, 6 February, James Maughn, 57 (07.07.1968), and Brigit Maughan, 55 (06.01.1971) – both of St Theresa’s Close, Hackney – were charged with handling stolen goods and selling, supplying or offering to supply a medicines subject to general sale elsewhere than at a registered pharmacy.
This follows a Met operation at the Bonzer Boot Fare, Havering, in May 2025, and an earlier operation at Willow Farm Boot Fare in April 2025, during which officers seized a large quantity of stolen tools.
The defendants appeared before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 20 February, where they pleaded not guilty to both charges.
They are due to stand trial at Romford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 4 June. | ||
