We are writing to update you on Operation Scarletfox, our ongoing work to tackle violence and organised crime in Tipton and help make our community safer.
 

Since the launch of the operation at the start of February, our officers have been taking action to address concerns about violence and criminal activity in the area. So far, we have made 26 arrests for offences including drug supply, possession of weapons, going equipped and driving offences. We have also seized 12 vehicles, carried out more than 90 stop and searches, and recovered a firearm.
Operation Scarletfox focuses on disrupting organised crime and gang-related activity that causes harm to our communities. As part of this work, you may see increased patrols and additional officers in areas where crime has been reported. Our teams will continue to carry out warrants, target offenders and remove weapons from our streets.
 

Chief Inspector Michelle Allen from Sandwell Police said: “We are determined to make the streets of Tipton safer and the launch of Operation Scarletfox is our response to tackle serious crime in the area. We are increasing patrols around hotspot areas for crime and bringing in additional resources to target offenders. However, we need your support. “If you have any information about violence or organised crime in your area, we urge you to tell us. Your information helps us take action and keep your community safe.
“Our message to those who believe they can target our communities is clear – we will track you down and put you before the courts. Carrying weapons or becoming involved in organised crime is not glamorous and puts lives at risk, including your own.”
