Dear Resident,
The Leigh Town Centre Policing Team were out on patrol today following a recent rise in anti-social behaviour. Several e-bikes were seen riding up and down the town centre, including one rider who repeatedly attempted to provoke officers by making comments, using hand gestures, and travelling at speeds well in excess of the legal limit and generally causing a nuisance with his erratic and Anti-Social riding. However, the rider’s overconfidence worked against him. While he was distracted, an officer was able to get close enough to seize the e-bike. He was arrested until his details were confirmed, after which he was de-arrested. The e-bike has now been seized and will not be returned. The male could face multiple charges, including riding without a valid driving licence, having no insurance, using an unregistered vehicle, and dangerous driving.
