After numerous reports made to the Police regarding the use of E-Bikes within Farnworth Town Centre causing ASB, the Farnworth Neighbourhood team were out on proactive patrol targeting the use of such bike. Whilst on patrol a group of youths were spotted at KFC off Albert Road, with one of the youths being on an E-Bike. A closer inspection of the bike showed that this was capable of reaching 31mph without pedalling and used a “twist and go” style throttle. The rider of this bike was just 11 years old. The Farnworth Neighbourhood Team will continue to tackle the illegal use of E-bikes to keep both the users and other members of the public safe.
