2 arrested for attempting to convey articles into a prison

At Thursday 19/03/2026 at approximately 03:25am officers observed a drone above Bolingbroke Grove SW11.

Moments later this drone was seen flying above HMP Wandsworth with a payload beneath.

Eventually the drone moved away from HMP Wandsworth after the payload failed to be delivered and flew towards Clapham Common. The drone was seen to land near a male, who then placed it into a bag and began walking towards The Avenue, SW4. Observation of the male continued and he deposited his bag into a parked vehicle before walking away.

The male circled round the area and returned to the vehicle now joined with a female. The vehicle moves away and is stopped by police officers. In the boot of the vehicle was the drone and its payload.
Both the male and female were arrested for attempting to convey articles into a prison.
