BIKE OPERATION |
||
|
Dear all,
K&B carried out a very successful joint bike operation with the Councillors on Tuesday 17th March. We had 28 officers across Westminster assisting us by ticketing bikes going down one way streets, going through red lights and cycling on the pavement. The locations targeted were, Lowndes Square, Albert Gate, Elizabeth Street, Prince Consort Road and Exhibition Road junction with Kensington Road.
92 fixed penalty notices were issued in total within the 5 hour timeframe of the operation. The Transport Town Centre Team who were issuing tickets on Elizabeth Street also assisted an arrest and an ambulance was called for an injured cyclist.
Present were Lime, TFL, E-scooter Safety Team, The Transport Town Centre Team, Westminster City council, Westminster Cycling Campaign and residents. We also had the first Lime pop up in Westminster, who were educating cyclists as part of their ‘Respect the Red’ campaign, handing out helmets and enusring cyclists were equipped with the correct cycling gear.
If you are aware of other areas that cause issues in terms of cycling please let us know.
All the best,
K&B TEAM
