Dear Residents,

Due to previous reports and residents request to send out alerts regarding parcel theft we are providing preventative measures to take to fight against parcel theft. Here are some simple steps you can take to protect your deliveries:

✅ Top Tips to Prevent Parcel Theft

1. Track Your Deliveries

Use courier tracking apps or email updates so you know when your parcel is due to arrive.

2. Nominate a Safe Place

If you're not home, choose a secure alternative location such as:

A trusted neighbour
A designated safe box
A local collection point (e.g. post office or parcel shop)

3. Use Delivery Instructions

Many couriers allow you to specify where to leave items out of sight (e.g. behind a gate, in a porch box).

4. Install a Doorbell Camera or CCTV

Visible cameras can deter thieves and help identify offenders.

Even basic motion‑activated cameras provide extra security.

5. Avoid Leaving Parcels in Communal Areas

If you live in a flat, ask that parcels are not left in shared lobbies or hallways.

6. Collect Parcels Promptly

The longer a parcel is left unattended, the greater the risk of theft.

7. Keep Evidence

If a parcel goes missing, keep:

Order confirmation
Tracking information
Any CCTV or doorbell footage

Report stolen parcels to your courier and retailer as soon as possible.

Report the theft via: www.police.uk or by calling 101.

Always call 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
