Addressing drug use in Broad Lane N15

Good morning residents,

Over the weekend, your local officers have been busy patrolling drug hotspots both in communal areas of flats, as well as on the streets and Markfield Park. Officers conducted stop and searches under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act, and PCSOs addressed trespassing of communal areas in blocks and seizing of open alcohol containers in public places. We yielded some great results, and sent a clear message to those committing anti-social behaviour it will not be tolerated. 

We have also conducted a warrant in support of a neighbouring ward and seized Class A drugs on a simultaneous hit on two apartments in the same complex, with intelligence suggesting it being a base for drug supply in Haringey. One arrest was made, and several other formal warnings were given. These drugs were likely to have been circulated around the South Tottenham Ward.

As the seasons now change, we will likely start to see a shift of anti-social behaviour and drug use from occurring within communal stairwells to outside in parks, streets and walking paths. We will continue to use intelligence-led policing and adjust our strategy to keep anti-social behaviour low.
