Hello Maureen Good to speak with you just now. As i said, my name is Alasdair Bavister and I'm a Membership Services Administrator (MSA) for OurWatch, the national Neighbourhood Watch organisation and also a member of the executive of the Association of Dorset Watches (ADW). We're contacting all the registered Neighbourhood Watch Main Coordinators in Dorset by phone, to find out how things are, and to confirm that they and their schemes are active. You're registered as a member of Wallisdown Homewatch/Neighbourhood Watch, for which the registered coordinator is Graham Hadfield. I tried phoning him and neither his landline or mobile are ringing, suggesting that he's no longer active. Apart from you, I've called several registered members of the scheme and none have had any contact with the scheme or knew of Graham. The conclusion has to be that the scheme is no longer active and will be deleted. Your personal NW registration won't be affected and will remain active. We talked about setting up a NW scheme for Daws Avenue. If you would like to do that please register the scheme at: As we discussed, the simplest way to run a NW group is to set up a WhatsApp group, e.g Daws Avenue NW. Make up a simple flyer to announce it and and invite all the neighbours to join by texting you their name, address and mobile phone number. Add them to your mobile phone "contacts" and then add them to the WhatsApp group. You can then all keep in touch with neighbourhood information. The NW for which I'm coordinator has an annual street party and a Christmas season get together. If you do register Daws Avenue NW, I will see that, and will contact you to arrange to meet up with you and neighbours and bring you NW signs for putting on a lamppost and window stickers, should you want them.
