Scam Awareness |

|
ADVICE We're continuing to receive reports of scams whereby people who might be seen to be vulnerable or elderly are being targeted by criminals pretending to be from your bank. Some victims have been defrauded out of thousands of pounds and so we're encouraging communities to look out for the signs of courier fraud. Fraudsters will pose as bankers or police officers in their attempts to scam people out of their money and will use forceful tactics and intimidation to get what they want. If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from your bank and trying to make arrangements to come and collect your cash, bank card or any other valuable goods, please simply hang up and report it. Please help your family members, particularly those who are vulnerable, stay vigilant around their finances and remind them that neither the bank nor the police will ever call and ask for verification of personal details or bank details, of for your PIN. Nor will either organisation send someone out to collect cash, cards or other valuable goods from you. | ||
