Summer Safety Reminder from Your Local Police
As the weather gets warmer (in-between all the hail and snow) we want to remind everyone to stay safe and enjoy the summer responsibly. Here are a few important tips: Disposable Barbecues: Whilst disposable BBQ's are convenient, they are often more trouble than they're worth! Always use disposable BBQs in open, outdoor spaces away from buildings, fences, and dry grass. Never leave a lit BBQ unattended and ensure it is completely cold before disposal.
Derelict Buildings: Avoid entering abandoned or derelict buildings. They can be dangerous due to unstable structures, broken glass, fly tipped waste and other hazardous products. If you see someone trespassing, please report it to us. Incidents in derelict sites are not only a hazard for those already inside, but also for the emergency service workers who put themselves in harms way to help.
Let’s work together to have a safe and enjoyable summer!
