Update on Our Current Beat Priorities – Beat 46 We’ve been busy across Ashby, Packington, Normanton le Heath and Ravenstone, continuing our work on the priorities raised by our community.
So far, we’ve completed over 20 dedicated school parking patrols following concerns from parents, residents and school staff. These patrols have focused on peak school times, where officers have engaged with drivers, offered education and taken appropriate action against several motorists for parking offences. Alongside this, we’ve delivered school safety education to help protect children around busy school environments.
Speeding remains a significant concern in Ravenstone, and in response we’ve carried out several proactive speed operations across the village. These targeted both known hotspots and locations reported directly to us by residents. Multiple drivers have been spoken to regarding their speed, supporting our commitment to improving road safety and ensuring the community feels safer on its roads.
We’ve also completed multiple engagements with retailers as part of our priority to address under reported retail crime around the Flagstaff Island retail area. Our work has focused on strengthening partnerships with stores, local authorities and neighbourhood policing teams. We are supporting the expansion of the existing retail radio system to the retail park, encouraging better use of CCTV, BWV and promoting clearer reporting routes. Building strong relationships continues to be a key part of this effort.
Keep your eyes open for our updated beat priorities, which will be published at the start of next month. We’ll continue to listen, respond and work closely with residents, schools and businesses to keep Beat 46 safe. If you see something, report it — we’re here to help.
