Dear Resident We are appealing for information after a rear numberplates were stolen from a car in Wood Lane, Hartwell. The theft occurred between midnight on the 30th March to midnight on the 31st March 2026. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information relating to the theft of these items or that may have been in the area around the time of the incident and heard or seen anything suspicious. Please call us on 101 quoting reference number 26000185110 or report to us online here. You can also pass on information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle: One-Way Clutch Head Screws: These screws can be installed using a regular flathead screwdriver, but cannot be removed, as the screw head is designed to prevent a screwdriver from gaining purchase to back them out. Tamper-Proof/Security Heads: Other variants use unique, specialized head designs (such as a hex head with a center locking pin) that require a specific, included tool for installation and removal, preventing the use of standard screwdrivers. Further security tips and crime prevention advice can be found on the Northamptonshire Police website and on the Neighbourhood Watch website.
