Join the Bordesley Green Police Community Street Watch! You can be the eyes, ears, and heart of Bordesley Green
Safe communities are built by people who care; it does not happen by chance. The Bordesley Green Neighbourhood team are calling upon residents who want to make a positive difference to the area in which they reside.
Community Street Watches bring local people together to work alongside their local police team, helping to reduce anti-social behaviour, strengthen trust within our community and to achieve a common goal of deterring crime. A visible presence will allow for informed and proactive approaches to be taken by volunteers, to help create safer streets and togetherness within the community.
Experience is not a requirement to get involved in the Street watch - all we are looking for is those that are committed and passionate about their local community, with a willingness to help protect one another. If you are amongst the volunteers, please expect to partake in the below, such as: Being the link between the community and the police
Please be aware that at no point are Street Watch members expected to or advised to put themselves at risk. The role is about awareness, communication and prevention rather than enforcement. West Midlands police officers will provide guidance, support and training prior to allowing Street Watch volunteers to patrol independently. This is to ensure that they always operate within clear safety guidelines.
It is deeply rewarding to be part of a Community Street Watch. Volunteers often report a greater confidence in community safety, pride in contributing to something that matters most to them and a stronger connection to their neighbours.
Together, we can make our streets safer and a welcoming place for everyone. We as your local neighbourhood team would love for you to join us on this journey. This can be a wonderful opportunity for residents to get to know one another and to make friends with those who live amongst them.
