Dear Resident
Here is a round-up of what has been happening in Willenhall South, New Invention, and Short Heath over the last week.
Willenhall South
Officers have been patrolling Western Avenue and surrounding area in Willenhall and Darlaston. We have had reports that youths have been climbing on the scaffolding, and issues with off road bikes in Western Avenue Park. An abandoned insecure van has been reported to WHG as it is parked on their land, they will apply a notice get this vehicle removed if the rightful owner does not remove it themselves.
Patrols are continuing around Willenhall Town Centre and Memorial Park. We have not encountered the youths that were visited the week before and issued with warning letters and ABC contracts. (Acceptable Behaviour Contract).
We also received numerous reports from McDonalds of youths throwing food at each other and causing a general nuisance. Whilst on patrol we have visited McDonalds and engaged with youths. The youths that have been identified causing the issues will be visited by Police i/c Walsall Council or Walsall Housing group and warning letters will be issued.
1 x male was caught stealing in Greggs and was arrested in Willenhall town as he made off, he was charged with 5 shoplifting offences and sentenced to 8 months.
We attended Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara on 01/02/26 and conducted a pop-up crime prevention surgery and a joint surgery with the local Councillors. The issues raised were drug dealing and off-road bikes.
We attended Cosy Corner at the Chart on 05/02/26. This event is open to anyone and takes place every Thursday 17.00 to 19.00. Every Tuesday St Giles Church have a soup kitchen between 10.00 to12.00, anyone welcome for a chat, or food and drink. The New Testament Church Upper Lichfield Street (opposite Morrisons) will be running an arts and craft session between 14.30 to 16.30. The foodbank is also available between 12.00 to 14.00. Both events take place on Tuesdays.
Short Heath
Officers attended Queens Lea Community Centre on 02/02/26 to conduct a joint Surgery with Walsall Housing Group. These surgeries are open to any residents living in Willenhall who would like to discuss any issues or receive crime prevention advice.
We have also attended Queens lea on 04/02/26 for the PACT meeting (Partners and Community Together) issues raised were off road bikes and speeding vehicles.
We attended Winehala, Sandbeds Road for a coffee afternoon, pop up crime prevention stand and Q&A session.
Willenhall North
Patrols have been conducted around the Beacon and Allens Rough Estate, no issues to report.
We attended the Hive youth club on 03/02/26 and engaged with the young people who attended and were doing an experiment with Skittles and water.
Joint Surgery with WHG will take place on 10/02/26 at the Hive, New Invention Square. These surgeries are open to any residents living in Willenhall who would like to discuss any issues or for crime prevention advice.
