Longford Updates |

|
Dear Residents & Businesses,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
PATROLS Officers have been carrying out patrols of the Longford areas on foot and in vehicles. We have been paying particular attention to locations that have recently experienced an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour, and our local green spaces.
ARRESTS & SEARCHES Our officers arrested a 58 year old male and a 45 year old female for shoplifting offences this week, they have been remanded into custody awaiting their time at court.
VEHICLE CRIME & BURGLARY We have had no reports of any burglaries or vehicle crime in the Longford area this week.
You can find out more about vehicle crime prevention here: Theft of motor vehicle | Your Options | West Midlands Police (west-midlands.police.uk) Theft from motor vehicle | Your Options | West Midlands Police (west-midlands.police.uk)
You can find more information about how to keep your home safe here: Keeping your shed or garage safe and secure | Crime prevention | West Midlands Police Keep burglars out of your property | West Midlands Police Checklist for securing your home when you leave it | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police
ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR We have seen a small spike in anti-social behaviour, particularly around Arena Retail Park. Last week we issued banning notices to 8 girls whilst they were on site. This week, we have attended their home addresses in Bedworth in conjunction with Warwickshire Police to discuss the matter with the parents.
VEHICLE SEIZURES This week, we have seized two vehicles for no tax at Sowe Common and near to the CBS Arena.
WARRANTS We conducted a warrant earlier this week at an address in Dewis House, Riley Square. During the warrant, no arrests were made and no items found during our searches.
OTHER INFORMATION We have now confirmed dates for our next community meetings and engagements: Cuppa With A Copper – Park Edge Family Hub, Roseberry Avenue – 26/03/2026 at 17:30-18:30 PACT Meeting - St Thomas' Church, Longford Road - 25/08/2026 at 18:00-19:00

Alternatively you can contact the CRIMESTOPPERS charity anonymously by calling 0800 555 111. This is a free phone number. CRIMESTOPPERS can also be contacted online here: Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously | Crimestoppers (crimestoppers-uk.org)
Please do not report crime via WMnow because it is not always monitored.
Kind Regards, The Henley & Longford Neighbourhood Policing Team | ||
