Good morning!
Littleover Safer Neighbourhoods Team have been out yesterday in the local community conducting speed checks .
Speeding remains one of the major factors in road traffic accidents and accounts to a high rate of fatal collisions or serious injuries.
Quite simply, travelling at high speed will increase the likelihood of a collision-especially when combined with driver error or associated factors such as being distracted.
Speeding is one of our 'fatal fours.'
The "Fatal Four" refers to the four most common behaviours that cause death or serious injury on roads:
1.Speeding,
2.Drink/drug driving,
3.Using a mobile phone,
4. Not wearing a seatbelt.
When combined with careless driving the Fatal four is a potentially deadly combination.
Please drive with care for others and adhere to your road safety, protect yourselves, your loved ones and the local community and reduce the road casualty rate. Derbyshire Police are dedicated to protecting the public and our community,
Speeding when caught, will result in a minimum £100 fine and 3 points, or a speed awareness course and Registered keepers will be notified within 14 days.
Thank you,
PCSO HARTLEY 13156
