Appeal made after man assaulted in Basingstoke road

We are appealing for witnesses following a report of a suspected road rage incident that took place in Vivian Road, Basingstoke.

Officers were called at 3.51pm on Thursday 12 March to a report that a man had been dragged out of his car and punched in the head.

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with a neck injury, but has since been discharged.

An investigation is underway and arrests have been made.

A 27-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 33-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Both are currently in police custody.

We know that a number of people were in the area at the time, and we are keen to hear from people who saw what happened.
