I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle Crime - them from / theft of, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. 🚨 Police Advisory: Vehicle Crime Alert 🚨
We have received recent reports of thefts from vehicles and theft of vehicles in the area. Offenders are specifically targeting cars with keyless entry systems.
Please take the following precautions to help protect your vehicle:
🔐 Secure Your Vehicle
• Always lock your car, even when parked at home.
• Double-check doors and windows before leaving your vehicle.
📡 Protect Keyless Entry Fobs
• Keep keys and fobs away from doors and windows inside your home.
• Store keys in a signal-blocking (Faraday) pouch to prevent relay attacks.
• Consider turning off keyless entry (if your vehicle allows it).
🚗 Parking Safety
• Park in well-lit, busy areas where possible.
• At home, park in a garage or close to your property.
🎥 Increase Visibility & Deterrents
• Install CCTV or motion-sensor lighting around your property.
• Use steering wheel locks or other visible anti-theft devices.
📦 Remove Valuables
• Do not leave items on display inside your vehicle.
• Even small items can attract opportunistic thieves.
🔔 Stay Alert
• Report suspicious activity to police immediately.
• Check if your vehicle has tracking or alert systems enabled.
