Electric Bike seized

Last week Officers were patrolling along Broadway, Dunscroft when this stylish electric bike got their attention. The rider and his passenger for some reason didn't want to stop and chat with the Officers. The rider quickly attempted his escape down a back alleyway……………. that led to a dead end…….. Not the best choice!

The bike was ditched and the lads went into hiding in the bushes, quickly found by the pursuing officers. 

The bike was seized and the 12 year old rider and 11 year old passenger were taken home to their parents! 

These types of bikes are extremely dangerous in the wrong hands! They are very powerful and do not meet the requirements of a vehicle being used on a road.

The kids involved on this occasion will be referred to our Youth Offending Team for education around the dangers these bikes can present.

We continue to see the use of electric bikes and off road motorbikes being used illegally or in an antisocial manner across the East of Doncaster. 

Please be aware that if you are found to be riding a motorbike in such a manner, the bike will be seized and you will be reported for the associated offences.
