Local Priorities Shoplifting Message |
I wanted to provide you an update regarding Shoplifting, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Good Morning Heston East Residents over the past few months there has been a number of Shoplifting Reports that have come to light around the Heston East Areas including Sainsbury and the BP Garage and Tesco Express due to that we have been concentrating on these areas and have had great success in tracking some of those responsible for this and they have been given banning Orders for the local areas ranging from 1 to 2 years where they are not allowed to enter these shops and if they do they will be arrested and charged with Burglary Offences. We understand that the Locals Residents see things like this taking place and feel that nothing is being done from the Police to the Parents and Shop Owners but we are looking at having Meetings with these shops and sharing advice and profiles of people involved in these actions. Shoplifting is a crime that can have a substantial negative impact on local businesses across London. If you notice anything suspicious or witness anyone shoplifting, please report it as soon as possible. These reports are invaluable in letting us build a picture of when and where shop lifters operate, meaning we can be in the right place at the right time to arrest those responsible.
For more guidance, see our page on how to spot a shoplifter.
We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years. | ||
