🚨 Road Safety Concern – Alveley Village 🚨 1️⃣ What we want the public to know We are aware of reports of young people playing “chicken” in front of moving vehicles on the A442 near the Royal Oak and Squirrel pubs, and also within the village on Daddlebrook Road. This behaviour is extremely dangerous and puts children, drivers and passengers at serious risk of injury or worse. Even at lower speeds, drivers may not be able to stop in time, and the consequences could be life‑changing for everyone involved. This work forms part of our local road safety priority and supports the NPCC national road safety campaign, which aims to prevent serious harm on our roads and keep communities safe. 2️⃣ How we want the public to feel We want our community to feel reassured that this issue is being taken seriously. Our Safer Neighbourhood Team is focused on preventing harm, safeguarding young people, and working with families and partners to stop risky behaviour before someone gets hurt. 3️⃣ What we want the public to do Please speak to children and young people about the dangers of running into the road or challenging vehicles.Drivers are asked to remain vigilant, especially in these areas.Information has been given with some of the youths involved so this will be followed up .But if you have any further information or ongoing concerns, please report them via 👉 www.neighbourhoodmatters.co.ukThanks Kind regards Bridgnorth safer neighbourhoods team |
