Weekly Round-up! |
||
Good morning Resident,
Many apologies this week as I am running a little late with my weekly update. It hasn't been the busiest week, so lets get to it!
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – A total of seven arrests made within the city centre this week with a couple of them being prolific offenders that are causing issues with many retailers in Wolverhampton. Arrests were made for two individuals for recalls to prison, one made by city centre officers and one by British Transport Police at the train station. One juvenile has been arrested for a robbery and another for multiple assaults on officers at the bus station. A male and female were arrested for a theft at Poundland this week with the male being further arrested for counterfeiting. An arrest was made with a male being taken into custody for drunk and disorderly. Finally a prolific offender was arrested this week for multiple offences, Jamie Bunt had been giving a particular retailer a right headache this week with constant shop thefts in their store. Bunt was spotted by officers on Dudley Street and a foot chase ensued, he decided to make the mistake of running down the rear of the Police station where officers appeared out of the rear gates and he was quickly detained. Jamie was charged with 5 counts of Theft from Stores, Robbery and he was also recalled to prison. I'd like to say well done to all officers involved in bringing him in.
Community Engagement – Due to a busy week there were no planned community events. If you do see us out and about please don't hesitate to come and have a chat.
Guardian Patrols – Alongside our usual patrols within the city centre we welcomed not only our Servator units but also our Guardian Task Force. Servator patrols were carried out at hotspots throughout the city focusing on ‘sketchy’ individuals that actively avoid walking by them, and the GTF look at finding people whilst walking around. Most of the time our persons of interest don't even know the task force are there.
Night-Time Economy – Team 2 took on the responsibility of the NTE on Friday with it being an extremely quiet evening. Not a bad way to finish their week.
Other News - Arrest attempts were carried out throughout the day on Easter Sunday with all results turning negative, fortunately some of the individuals we were looking for were taken in to custody later on in the week. Finally, as you may have already heard the PSPO, Public Space Protection Order, was put into place around Bentley Bridge with an increase in Police presence due to the consistent ASB being caused by large groups of school children while they were off school.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you look forward to the next one!
