Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

Between 15/04/2026 @ 22:00 to 16/04/2026 @ 06:23a theft of a vehicle occurred in Cassiobury Drive.

Victim left his Black LEXUS parked on his driveway locked and secured overnight and discovered the vehicle missing this morning. Victim still has keys in his possession. There has been no break into his property.

The vehicle has no tracker. It has a panoramic sun roof and tan leather seats, both of which are not standard.
The vehicle also contained a wheelchair and a ramp which is used by victim's wife.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
