I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Operation Terminos Plus
During the week beginning 6 April, police carried out coordinated action across Kilburn and Cricklewood as part of Operation Terminos Plus, an operation focused on keeping local communities safe and tackling crime that matters most to residents. This work was delivered over several days and involved officers from local policing teams, with support from neighbouring boroughs, specialist police units, the local council, and other partner agencies. By working together, we were able to respond more effectively to concerns raised by the community.
A Balanced and Community Focused Approach The operation combined strong enforcement with a clear focus on: • Safeguarding vulnerable people • Preventing further harm • Providing support and diversion where appropriate This ensured that activity was proportionate, fair, and focused on long term community safety, not just short term enforcement.
Results from the Operation As a result of this coordinated effort, officers achieved the following outcomes: • 45 arrests for a range of offences • 74 vehicles seized as part of enforcement activity • Over 1,000 mobile phones recovered, believed to be stolen • 8 dangerous weapons seized (including machetes and knives), with arrests made in every case • £3,000 worth of illegal drugs removed from the streets • Illegal tobacco seized with the help of Trading Standards • 10 warnings issued to licensed premises that were not meeting required standards
Working Together for Safer Neighbourhoods This operation demonstrates how different police teams and partner agencies can come together with a shared goal: reducing crime, protecting vulnerable people, and improving safety for everyone who lives, works, or visits the area. We remain committed to visible policing, listening to community concerns, and taking action that helps make neighbourhoods safer and more welcoming.
