This week's highlights!
Prolific shoplifted Arrested and drugs seized This week saw a officers from the Dockyard team arrest a prolific shoplifter who had been evading police. During the arrest, officers also discovered the suspect was in possession of drugs, leading to a further arrest for that offence. This is a great result for our community, helping to keep our streets safer, supporting our local businesses through excellent teamwork and proactive policing.
Live Facial Recognition Success During a live facial recognition operation, officers from the team identified and arrested a male who was wanted for ABH. This swift intervention meant a potentially dangerous male was removed from the streets. In total 9 persons were arrested during the operation, showcasing once again, how innovation and technology are helping us protect the public more effectively than ever.
Inspiring the Next Generation - Careers Fair at local Primary School It wasn't all arrests and operations this week! Our team had the pleasure of attending a careers fair at Cardwell Primary School in Frances Street, where we were met by boundless enthusiasm (and some very impressive questions) from the pupils of Year 5 and 6. We spoke about what we do, how we help people and why teamwork, communication and kindness matter in policing. The students were fantastic and I think we may have met a few future officers!
A Week to be Proud Of From removing offenders from our streets, to inspiring young minds, this has been a rewarding week. We continue to patrol and hit problem areas with focused, high visibility patrols, acting swiftly on the valuable information we've received from the community. Thanks to the engagement from our residents, we've been able to focus on problem individuals and properties, taking decisive action in partnership with the Royal Borough of Greenwich to disrupt crime and antisocial behaviour.
Every patrol, Meet Your Team surgeries and conversations we have with you, our residents, is helping us make Woolwich Dockyard safer. Please keep continue to let us know of any crime related issues you are affected by.
More great work is in the pipeline and we shall keep you all updated 😊
