Castlefield Update - Male Charged and Recalled to Prison After Series of Thefts |

Officers from the Town Hall Neighbourhood Policing Team have charged a male with four counts of theft from a shop and one count of assault following a series of incidents at a store in Castlefield.
The male was identified after neighbourhood officers worked closely with staff at the affected store, reviewing CCTV and gathering evidence from multiple incidents. He was located during proactive foot patrols in the city centre and arrested shortly afterwards.
Following his arrest, police charged the male with all five offences. He has since been remanded in custody to appear at the next available court hearing, and due to further matters he has also been recalled to prison.
The Town Hall Neighbourhood Team continues to work closely with local businesses in Castlefield to target persistent shoplifting and associated antisocial behaviour. Officers will maintain regular patrols and take firm action against repeat offenders to help protect staff, residents and visitors.
