Good News
The Smiths wood team met Smiths Woods youngest entrepreneur on the 10th of April, she had set up a stand outside her address selling lollypops, water, squash and chocolate bars. We wish her all the success in the world. Officers charged a female with criminal damage to a neighbour’s fence, meanwhile the officers seized a machete in a public place thanks to community intelligence. On the 11th of April the team arrested a male for breaching his community protection notice by begging at Morrison’s Supermarket in Castle Bromwich. We charged him and he was remanded for court as this is the second time he has breached the conditions provided. The same day we seized a car for no insurance and helped our response colleagues in the search for a suicidal missing person. The team also helped our response colleagues in attendance at Morrison’s Supermarket when a shoplifter with £200 worth of alcohol ran into our arms. The male was also arrested for Robbery and another shop theft. First day back after our rest days on the 14th of April your local PCSO’s were out in Morrisons carpark with our Police Community Bus speaking to residents for crime prevention and listening to local concerns. The same morning officers arrested a male for making threats to kill against an ex-partner. He messaged her threatening to stab her and throw acid on her. Due to the nature of the threats, it was graded as high risk and we arrested him to safeguard the vulnerable victim. On the 16th the officers split and joined our CID colleagues to arrest three males at once for an attempt theft of motor vehicle last week in Solihull Town Centre and were chased all the way to Birmingham City Centre where CCTV picked them up. Two of the males were further arrested for assaulting officers as one bite an officer on the leg and the other spat in one’s face. PCSO Collins and Took joined Kingshurst local community champion Clive on a litter pick around Babbs Mill Lake. On the 17th of April, PCSO Khan was at Elmwood Place in Smiths Wood holding a beat surgery for local residents. PC Wheatley, PCSO Brady and PCSO Took did a talk at 237th Castle Bromwich Cubs Group. We talked to them about our jobs and they got to try on uniform and see the big public order van and test the sirens.
