Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): What to Do and How to Report It

What is Anti-Social Behaviour?

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is behaviour that causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm, or distress to others. Examples include:

Vandalism or damage to property

Rowdy or aggressive behaviour

Drug or alcohol-related nuisance

Harassment, intimidation, or threats

Groups causing nuisance in communal areas

Fly-tipping or misuse of shared spaces- Report to your Local Council

What Should You Do?

Do not put yourself at risk. If you feel threatened, remove yourself from the situation.

Keep a record of incidents, including dates, times, locations, and descriptions.

Report issues early — this helps prevent problems from escalating.

How to Report ASB

In an emergency or if a crime is in progress:
Call 999

If it is not an emergency but involves crime:
Call 101 or report online to the police.

For ongoing ASB affecting your neighbourhood or housing:
Report it to your local council or housing provider using their ASB reporting channels.

You can report anonymously, and all reports are treated seriously and confidentially.
