Second person arrested following serious assault in Felixstowe |

A second person has been arrested in connection with an incident which left a man in a serious condition in Felixstowe.
The assault took place on Hamilton Road. Police were called to the incident by the ambulance service at 3.22am on Saturday 18 April, with the assault believed to have taken place around 10 minutes before.
Two men aged in their 40s were walking along Hamilton Road, having walked from Bent Hill, when a male who was part of a group made a comment towards the pair. The group was made up of four males and a female. The victim replied before being hit to the head by a male member of the group. Shortly after the group ran off in the direction of Victoria Street.
The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance having suffered a serious head injury. His condition is currently described as critical but stable.
In the early hours of Sunday 19 April, police arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He currently remains under arrest.
Yesterday morning, Monday 20 April, officers arrested a second person in connection with the incident on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he currently remains.
Anyone with relevant CCTV or doorbell camera footage or anyone driving in the area at the time with a dash camera is asked to contact police.
