Appeal following assault

We are appealing for information after a man and woman were assaulted by a group of individuals in Stone recently.

We were called at 11.40pm on Friday 10 April to Stafford Road following reports of violence close to the play area. 

The victims, both in their 30s, were taken to hospital by ambulance with facial injuries. The male victim also suffered a broken leg.

A total of six individuals, all from Stone, have so far been arrested in connection with the assault. They include: an 18-year-old woman, along with four boys, one aged 17 and three aged 15, as well as a 15-year-old girl. They have each arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. 

They have each been placed on conditional police bail while our inquiries continue. 

Our investigation is well-underway and we are keen to gather evidence surrounding what happened.
